Shane Rucker

Shane Patrick Sharif Rucker is an artist based in Laytonsville Maryland. Born in Lake Charles Louisiana, Shane moved frequently throughout his youth before eventually settling in Maryland. No matter what country or state that he lived in, or what resources he lacked, there was always something to draw with and to draw on. In High School Shane both volunteered at Visa Art Gallery in Rockville MD and held a job at the Strathmore Music Hall Rockville MD. Currently he is enrolled full time at Montgomery College Rockville campus MD studying for his AFA. He’s an esteemed member of the Student Art League. On top of his studies, Shane works as an art teacher at Bayard Rustin ES in Rockville MD and at Whetstone Elementary School in Gaithersburg MD. He plans on transferring to the University of Maryland College Park in pursuit of a BFA and aspires to eventually earn a PHD in Fine Arts.
